COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 3, 2017) – For the second consecutive week, Blake Foerster of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse team earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Foerster (Jr., Centennial, Colo.) put away seven goals this week as he led to the Pack to a 1-1 record over the week. He also handed out a pair of assists as the Pack beat Westminster College and lost to Colorado Mesa University.
The attackman scored five goals to lead the Pack to a 14-12 upset over Westminster. Three of Foerster's goals came in the second half as the Pack handed the Griffins their first RMAC loss of the season. Foerster also caused two turnovers and collected two ground balls to help the Pack earn their first RMAC win at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
In the Pack's game with Colorado Mesa, Foerster potted two more goals and dished out an assist. Foerster has at least two goals in each of the Pack's eight games this season.
Foerster leads the RMAC with 3.38 goals per game. His 5.0 points per game also stands a conference best. Foerster ranks fourth nationally in points per game and eight in goals per game.
Scoring on 57.4 percent of his shots, Foerster is the most accurate shooter in the conference. He ranks third in D-II in shooting percentage.
Monday's award marks the third time in his career that Foerster has earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Foerster's two Player of the Week awards tie him for the most in the conference this season. As a team, CSU-Pueblo has four RMAC Player of the Week honors this season. This also leads the RMAC.
Foerster's efforts have helped the Pack set a new program wins record at with a 4-4 record overall. The Pack and Foerster will compete in their home finale Thursday April 13, when they host Maryville University at 5 p.m.
