COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 26, 2018) - Blake Foerster of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse team captured the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Award Monday.
Foerster (Sr., Centennial, Colo.)netted five goals and added five assists for 10 points during the Pack's spring break trip. With 35 points midway through the season, Foerster is on pace to shatter his school record of 53 points set last season.
In the Pack's game Tuesday against No. 16 Lindenwood, Foerster fired in two goals. He dished out three assists.
Foerster followed this effort up with another five-point game against Rockhurst University. He potted three goals for his fifth hat trick of the season. He accumulated two more assists.
With 3.29 goals per game, Foerster leads the RMAC and ranks eighth in D-II. Foerster's 5.0 points per game also lead the RMAC. He ranks seventh in the nation in points per game. Foerster ranks third in the RMAC with 1.71 assists per game.
Monday's honor was Foerster's fourth career RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor. Foerster earned this distinction twice last season (March and April 3). He became the first student-athlete in program history to earn RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors March 17, 2016.
With Foerster's accolade, the Pack has now had five RMAC Player of the Week Award winners this season. Foerster becomes the third Pack attackmen to earn RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, joining Anthony Ferrie (March 5) and Taylor Davis (March 19). Seniors Nick Richards (Henderson, Nev.) and Preston DeHerrera (Northglenn, Colo.) have both been named RMAC Defensive Player of the week in 2018.
Foerster and the Pack will return to Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium Friday April when the face No. 16 Colorado Mesa University. The opening faceoff between the Pack and Mavericks is set for 7 p.m.
