Foerster’s assist record leads to RMAC Offensive Player of the Week nod

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 30, 2018) –The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Monday that Blake Foerster of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse team earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Foerster (Sr., Centennial, Colo.) set a school record with seven assists in the Pack's 14-9 win over Adams State University Saturday. The attackman also put away a pair of goals to lead the Pack to the win that clinched CSU-Pueblo its first RMAC Tournament appearance in program history.

With nine points in the Pack's win over the Grizzlies, Foerster matched his own school record for points in the game. This was Foerster's fourth 9-point game of his career.  He also did not commit a turnover in the win.

In 2018, Foerster broke his own school record for points in a season with 67 points. Foerster's 30 assists this season also stands as a school record.  

After a dominating senior day, Foerster will graduate with a program-record 147 points.  His 87 goals and 60 career assists are also program records.

Foerster finished the regular season as the RMAC's leader in points per game for the second year in a row. His 4.79 points per game are .72 points per game more than second place, teammate Taylor Davis (Littleton, Colo.). Foerster ranks seventh in D-II in points per game.

The Smoky Hill High School product also ranks seventh in the nation with 2.14 points per game. Foerster also leads the RMAC with 30 assists, eight more than anyone else in the conference. His 2.64 goals per game rank third in the RMAC and 22nd in D-II.

For Foerster, this is his fifth career RMAC Offensive Player of the Week award. The ThunderWolves have claimed four RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Awards this season. They have seven RMAC Player of the Week accolades in 2018.

Foerster will lead the Pack into their first RMAC Tournament appearance Friday when the ThunderWolves play No. 1 seed Colorado Mesa University at 7 p.m.  The 2018 RMAC Tournament will be held in Grand Junction, Colo.
