DeHerrera Collects Google Cloud Academic All-American® honors

PUEBLO, Colo. (June 13, 2018) – Preston DeHerrera of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse team completed the Academic All-America sweep Wednesday when he was selected as a Google Cloud Academic All-American®, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

CoSIDA members voted DeHerrera (Sr., Northglenn, Colo.) a Third Team Academic All-American as part of the Division II At-Large team. For DeHerrera, this is his second Academic All-American award of the week. He earned a D-II Academic All-American nod from the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Monday.

A graduate of the Hasan School of Business' 3+2 program, DeHerrera achieved a 3.89 GPA. He majored in business management and business administration.

DeHerrera is the first Pack Men's Lacrosse student-athlete to earn an Academic All-American honor. Earlier this year, DeHerrera received Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year honors, making him the first ThunderWolves men's lacrosse student-athlete to accomplish this feat.

In 2018, DeHerrera led the Pack with 19 caused turnovers. His 1.27 caused turnovers per game ranked fifth in the RMAC this year. The defenseman holds the CSU-Pueblo record with 47 career caused turnovers. DeHerrera's 123 career ground balls rank second all-time in program history. He has averaged 2.56 ground balls per game for his career.

DeHerrera was named Honorable Mention All-RMAC this season, giving him his first all-conference accolade. The senior has been named First Team Academic All-Conference four times in his CSU-Pueblo career.

A team captain, DeHerrera also was selected to the Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-District® 6 Men's At-Large Team. Teammate Anthony Ferrie (Jr., Littleton, Colo.)  joined DeHerrera in garnering Google Cloud Academic All-District honors.
