Pack's adds another late signee for 2010

The ThunderWolves' men's soccer program added its 15th new recruit of the offseason this week after Liberty High School midfielder, Brandon Herre (Liberty HS/Colorado Springs, Colo.), committed to CSU-Pueblo for the 2010 season.

Herre, a 5-foot-8 midfielder, was a first-team all-Colorado Springs Metro League selection with the Lancers in 2009, and earned Honorable Mention All-Area by The Colorado Springs Gazette

As a wing and center midfielder, Herre possess excellent composure and vision, Pack coach Roy Stanley said.

"I know Brandon's awareness will help him to step in and help the team," Stanley said. "His passing skills and quickness will fit right in with the way we want to play."

He has played on excellent teams and had excellent coaching with Liberty High School and Colorado Rush Pikes Peak soccer club, both regular challengers for state titles, Stanley added.

"Lou Sagastume at Pikes Peak and Mike Goyden at Liberty are great coaches who have given Brandon many tools," Stanley said.

The ThunderWolves are looking to populate their center midfield with newcomers after losing three players to graduation, of which Herre should be in the mix in 2010.

Herre is the latest in a 2010 bumper crop of signees for the ThunderWolves, who are looking to rebound from a down 2009 after posting 11 wins in 2008.
