Pack falls to Regis 4-1
CSU-Pueblo misses opportunity to solidify RMAC standing.
DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 15, 2010) - Badly needing a win to stay hot and solidify its hold on third place in the RMAC, CSU-Pueblo saw an offensive assault by Regis Friday, falling 4-1 to the Rangers.
Regis outshot the Pack 30-8 and landed 11 shots on goal while CSU-Pueblo had trouble creating consistent chances, landing just one shot on goal in regular play.
Its lone goal came on a penalty kick goal by Brandon Herre (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) in the 80th minute after CSU-Pueblo was already trailing 4-0.
CSU-Pueblo is now 7-7 overall and and 6-4 in RMAC play, falling all the way to fifth place in the conference standings. The ThunderWolves are, however, one win away from clinching a spot in the RMAC playoffs, which expand to six teams for the first time this season. The Pack takes on sixth-place team, Mesa State, in Grand Junction Sunday.
