COLORADO SPRINGS (September 6, 2016) - Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer player Zach Davis (Jr., Tucson, Ariz.) has been named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced Tuesday by league officials.
Davis received accolades for the first time in his Pack career after guiding the ThunderWolves to a 2-0 record to begin the season.
In the opener Friday against Newman University, the Pack held the Jets to five shot attempts in a 1-0 victory.
Davis and Co. had another strong outing Sunday versus Lubbock Christian, defeating the Chaparrals 2-1 behind another solid effort on the defensive side. The Chaps were held to four total shots and three on goal.
In two games the ThunderWolves held the opposition to a .111 shooting percentage.
CSU-Pueblo (2-0) continues nonconference play this week and hits the road for the first time this season. The Pack play Friday Sept. 9 at Northeastern State and finish the weeekend Sept. 11 at West Texas A&M.
As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
