PUEBLO, Colo. (September 16, 2016) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime Friday against Colorado Christian to open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
Colorado Christian clinched the win two minutes into the overtime period on a scramble in front of the net.
From the start CSU-Pueblo controlled possession for much of the first half, firing off six shots to the Cougars three. CCU led 2-1 in corner kicks.
Colorado Christian scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute following a lapse in the defense.
In the second period CSU-Pueblo again came out of the gates firing led by Paquette's four shots in the game.
For the contest the Pack held a 12-7 shot advantage along with 4-2 in corner kick attempts.
CSU-Pueblo (2-3, 0-1 RMAC) returns to the pitch Sunday when they welcome Colorado Mines to town for a 1 p.m. match at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer Stadium.
