No. 21 Roadrunner strong second half too much for Pack in road loss

DENVER, Colo. (October 2, 2016) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team played to a 1-1 first half at No. 21 Metro State University of Denver, Sunday, but would fall 5-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.

The ThunderWolves (3-7-0, 1-5-0 RMAC) netted the equalizer at 32:41 when sophomore Dycus Kelly (D, Laramie, Wyo.) scored his second goal of the season on a one touch that beat the goalkeeper on a throw in.

The game went into halftime 1-1, but just 1:08 into the second frame, the Roadrunners (5-4-2, 3-2-1 RMAC) regained the lead at 2-1.

MSU Denver recorded two more goals before senior Daniel Wichman (M/D, Chandler, Ariz.) scored at 81:51 following a scramble in the box.

The home team added an insurance goal in the 87th minute to secure the 5-2 victory.

MSU Denver had 18 shots with nine on frame, while the Pack totaled 15 shots with five on goal.

Next the ThunderWolves remain on the road for a Oct. 7 RMAC battle at Fort Lewis College at 3 p.m.
