ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 1, 2017) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team got revenge of a loss earlier in the season by defeating Adams State 2-1 Sunday on the road at ASU Soccer Field.
The first score came with one minute and twenty seconds left in the first half as the Pack earned back-to-back corner kicks taken by Connor Marth (Sr., Tulsa, Okla.) who kicked in a beauty of a pass that reached Chambers who then struck the high right side corner to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
At halftime the Pack led 5-3 in shots and was even 3-3 with the Grizzlies.
ASU evened the match less than ten minutes into the second half on a ball off the hands of the Pack defense. The Grizzlies managed four shots before converting their fifth shot in that span.
The Pack's first and only shot of the second half came on the Sanchez goal in the 61st minute. Marth was credited with his second assist of the match and bringing his season total to four.
The final thirty minutes of play was a defensive battle with the Grizzlies firing seven shots at the net. A solid outing by Pack goalkeeper Tyler Harvey (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) who made five saves on fifteen ASU shots kept the Grizzlies silent to secure the Pack win.
CSU-Pueblo (2-7-1, 2-3-1 RMAC) will seek to continue its unbeaten streak Oct. 6 at Colorado Mesa in RMAC action at Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
