Robert Kinsey voted Convergys Player of the Week
When Robert Kinsey sat on the bench during pregame introductions for the ThunderWolves' soccer game against Newman (Kan.) on Aug. 31, nobody had any idea about the show the redshirt freshman from Cherry Creek High School in Denver was about to put on. Except for maybe Kinsey himself.
Coming off the bench, Kinsey, who had never started a game before in his collegiate career, suddenly emerged as one of the top go-to strikers the ThunderWolves have boasted in several years, netting four goals, tied for the most in ThunderWolves' men's soccer history, as the Pack scored a 6-0 win.
By scoring four goals, Kinsey became just the second player in CSU-Pueblo history to net four scores in a single game (Ryan Billiet accomplished the feat in 1998). He also became just the eighth player in RMAC history to score four or more goals in a game.
And after a game that saw him burst onto the scene in one of the biggest ways in CSU-Pueblo athletics history, ThunderWolves fans have Kinsey the nod to be voted the first Convergys/CSU-Pueblo Athlete of the Week.
The Final Vote:
Brittany Carver (Women's Soccer), Scored fastest goal in
CSU-Pueblo history (18 secs.) (32)
17%
Caitlyn Jewell (Volleyball), Averaged eight kills per match
over four matches (34)

Robert Kinsey (Men's Soccer), Scored school record four
goals vs. Newman (91)
50%

allowed only 1 goal over two games (23)
