COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 9, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo freshman Saul Shrom (Fr., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) has been named the RMAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the RMAC announced Wednesday.
Shrom went a combined 2-4 over three matches against nationally-ranked teams last week, snagging two wins against No. 27 Southwest Baptist in both his singles and doubles matches.
He defeated Southwest Baptist's No. 3, 6-4, 6-3. He also was a part of the only doubles victory along with partner Bruno Hurtado (So., Mexico City, Mexico), when they won their match against Baptist's No. 2 doubles team, 8-6.
Shrom is the first ThunderWolf this season to earn RMAC Player of the Week honors. He is also the first Pack tennis player since 2009, when Ricardo Oaxaca earned the weekly honor twice.
