COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 27, 2013) - The Pack who begins the main stretch of their spring season beginning this week started with a tough road loss at the hands of the Air Force Academy. CSU-Pueblo fell 9-0.
Although being shutout, several matches were closer than the overall score indicated. The biggest threat for a victory came in the third match of singles play when Alex Breitenbach (Sr., Tigard, Ore.) won the first set but was unable to capitalize beyond that falling in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-2). Other key performances came from Alex Lesiuk (Sr., Winnipeg, Canada) and Tom Chavez (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) who each battled but eventually succumbed to a more experience squad (6-2, 6-4) and (6-3, 6-2) respectively.
The Pack will have little time to rest as they will travel to Oklahoma for three matches in two days when they play Cameron (OK) and Southwest Baptist (MO) on Friday and East Central (OK) on Saturday, all of which will be played on the campus of Cameron University. First match Friday is slated for 9 a.m.
