COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (January 24, 2017) - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its preseason information for men's and women's tennis Tuesday, which included the coaches' poll and preseason All-RMAC honors. The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's tennis team earned a tie for first in the poll, while two student-athletes were recognized. The Pack women were predicted to finish third.
The men gathered seven points and a first-place vote in the poll to tie with Metro State University of Denver. Colorado Mesa University was third with six points and Colorado Christian University rounded out the rankings in fourth with four points.
The ThunderWolves were 3-2 in the fall, which included a 5-4 win against Colorado Mesa. CSU-Pueblo began the spring portion of their schedule 0-2 with losses to Abilene Christian (8-1) Jan. 20 and Air Force (7-0) Jan. 21. The Pack continue play Feb. 19 in Greeley, Colorado to face Northern Colorado and Southern Utah.
The women received five points to trail Colorado Mesa (9 points, 3 first-place votes) and MSU Denver (6 points, 1 first-place vote). CCU was fourth with four points.
The Pack went 3-4 during the fall season and will serve up the first match of the championship season Jan. 28 at Northern Colorado.
As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
