Higby tapped as RMAC Pitcher of the Week

CSU-Pueblo pitcher Amber Higby was about as lights out as you could be last weekend, going 2-0 and posting a 0.48 ERA against Regis. For her efforts, she was recognized as the RMAC Pitcher of the Week today.
Higby appeared in all four games and started the last game of a four-game series at Regis University. She tallied two wins in the process, earning a 2-1 win after pitching 2.2 innings and allowing two hits and no runs in game one of the series. She finished the weekend with another win in a seven inning effort, giving up one run (earned) on four hits. For the series, she worked 14.2 innings, allowed one run on 12 hits, struck out five batters and walked four with a 0.48 earned run average. Higby and the Thunderwolves won the firstand final games of the series.
Higby, a junior from Pueblo East School, has become cemented as the team's number-two starter this season, has a 2.85 ERA in nine appearances, boasting an overall record of 3-2. In 27 innings, Higby has only allowed eight walks.
Higby's award marks the second time this season a ThunderWolf player has been recognized with an RMAC player of the week award, and the first time a ThunderWolf has won the pitching honor.
