INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - CSU-Pueblo found itself ranked sixth in the region in the latest NCAA Division II Central Region poll released Wednesday.
To qualify for the Central Region softball tournament, the ThunderWolves must remain among the region's top eight teams.
Over the past three weekends, CSU-Pueblo has lost six games off their schedule due to weather, but posted a 4-2 record in those contests (sweeps over Mesa State and Fort Lewis, losing in a sweep by 12th-ranked Metro State.) Last week, CSU-Pueblo was 5th in the region rankings, dropping a spot despite going 2-0 last weekend.
The ThunderWolves join RMAC teams Metro State (2nd), Colorado School of Mines (3rd) and Regis (7th) in the top eight in the region.
CSU-Pueblo has ten regular season games remaining - a road series at New Mexico Highlands this weekend, then a Tuesday doubleheader at Adams State in what can shake up to be the RMAC West Division Championship games, before ending the season at home vs. Western New Mexico.
The Central Regional Tournament will be held at the site of the region's top seed (currently Winona State (Minn.)). Winona State debuted at the top spot in this week's poll, with Metro State occupying the top spot last week.
