The CSU-Pueblo Softball team finished the weekend off with a bang with a sweep of the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands. The Pack shutout Highlands in game one with an impressive 17-0 victory before sealing the weekend sweep with a 22-7 victory in game two.
Ashley Aldrich (Sr., Sahuarita, Ariz.) completed one of the best weekends of her career, finishing with 13 RBI's and 2 homers in the four-game set in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The sweep was a big team effort as the Pack erupted for 69 runs in the series along with 56 hits to bring the magic number to win the RMAC Western Division to 6 games.
Pitching was also a key factor in the final two games as Justine Bosio (Fr., Santa Barbara, Calif.) pitched the first game to boost her overall record to 7-2. Corinne Meyerson (Fr., Pasadena, Calif.) came on in relief in game two to improve to 2-0 on the season.
With the sweep, the T-Wolves improve to 26-12 (20-8 RMAC).
The Pack will look to close in on their magic number of 6 when they play another rare mid-week double-header with Adams State on Wednesday in Alamosa, Colorado with the first pitch scheduled for 2 pm.
