CSU-Pueblo sends five to all-RMAC team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The CSU-Pueblo softball team saw five of its players named to the all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team, headlined by first teamers Kelly Purcell (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) and Ashley Aldrich (Sr., Sahuarita, Ariz.).
Purcell, the Pack's second baseman, is leading all RMAC second baseman this season with a .433 batting average. The Pack's two-hole hitter is also among the conference leaders in stolen bases with 23 thefts this season.
Aldrich, the Pack's starting centerfielder for the past two seasons, has hit .368 in 2009 with six home runs. Her 46 RBI is tops on the team.
Rounding out the Pack's all-conference selections are second teamers Janine Tyler (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) at shortstop and Katie Johnson (Sr., Bonney Lake, Wash.) at third base. Pitcher Amber Higby (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) was a third-team all-RMAC selection.
