Pack softball camp draws over 25 campers
The 2010 CSU-Pueblo Softball Camp drew more than 25 campers last week, the CSU-Pueblo softball program reported.
The 2010 camp provided area youngsters the ability to work out with CSU-Pueblo coaches and student-athletes, focusing on fundamentals, hitting and pitching technique, and mental strategy.
The camp, which was open to softball players ages 12-18.
"We had a good turnout at the camp and the talent level was great as well," Showalter said. "Their enthusiasm and energy for learning was awesome. They were all asking a lot of questions and looking to the coaches to teach them something that would make them better."
A good portion of the campers were athletes that were getting ready for their high school seasons, and the camp helped them get in the right frame of mind for the upcoming fall season, Showalter said.
"I believe they all learned some things that should help them with their success this coming season," Showalter said. "These campers should be able to go back to their high school or junior high teams with the confidence they need to do something to help their teams win."
