Walk-off bomb seals split for Pack
Henry goes yard as Pack grabs win.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 5, 2011) - The Pack salavaged a split with Nebraska-Kearney Saturday, thanks to the walk-off heroics of Carrie Henry (So., Monument, Colo.), who smashed a solo homer to power the ThunderWolves to a win.
Henry slammed a first-pitch home run over the 220 sign in straight-away centerfield in the bottom of the 7th, breaking up a 4-4 tie and taking away some of the sting from the 11-3 loss the Pack suffered in the day's first game against the Lopers, an 11-3 run-rule loss.
The game was a back-and-forth affair, with Nebraska-Kearney relying on home runs to keep it close. The Lopers knocked three homers out of the park in the game, including one in the top of the 7th that cut a 4-3 Pack lead to 4-4, setting the stage for Henry's heroics.
With the split, CSU-Pueblo, now 4-7 and 3-3 in RMAC play, will play another doubleheader with Nebraska-Kearney, beginning at 11 a.m.
