PUEBLO, Colo. (March 3, 2017) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team returns to the friendly confines of Rawlings Softball Complex for only the second time this season as Black Hills State comes to Pueblo for a four game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series.
The Pack (3-9, 0-4 RMAC) hit the diamond after a lackluster performance at MSU Denver to open conference play. CSU-Pueblo dropped four games versus the Roadrunners.
The ThunderWolves were led offensively by Gabby Moreno (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) who went 5-for-9 at the plate with two doubles and a run scored in four games played.
CSU-Pueblo hit two homeruns in the series, the first coming off the bat of Michaela Burpee (So., Union City, Calif.) who smacked her team leading fourth of the season.
Lexie Martindale (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) notched her first bomb of the season in the series finale
SETTING THE STAGE
Last season CSU-Pueblo went 0-4 against BHSU.
Black Hills State (3-9, 1-3 RMAC)
Last time on the field: Black Hills State lost three-of-four games at Adams State in their conference opener. BHSU is led offensively by Morgan Smith and Kindall Bethke with a .353 average. In the circle the Yellow Jackets are guided by Stefanie Witman (2-4, 6.30 ERA).
