Shane Showalter is entering his 11th season as head coach
of the CSU-Pueblo softball team.
Under Showalter's direction, the ThunderWolves have been one of
the most consistent contenders in the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference. In the past five seasons, CSU-Pueblo has
qualified for the RMAC Tournament each season, finishing second
twice (in 2006 and 2007).
In 2009, the program reached a milestone in qualifying an
NCAA Division II National Tournament berth, earning an
at-large bid and eventually playing its way
into a spot in the Central Regional Championship game, on
the way earning the program's first-ever wins in a national
tournament game.
He is currently the winningest coach in CSU-Pueblo softball
history, having eclipsed the 200-win plateau following a 7-6 win
over Metro State on March 13, 2011.
Prior to heading up the ThunderWolves' softball program,
Showalter was the head coach at Division III Colorado College in
Colorado Springs. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Adams
State.
Showalter earned both his bachelor's (Sports and Exercise
Management) and master's (Exercise Physiology) at Adams State.
He and his wife, Monique, have a daughter, Maison. The family
resides in Pueblo.
