Stephanie Paris Hughes is entering her sixth season with
the ThunderWolves.
Prior to joining the ThunderWolves' staff, Hughes was the head
coach for three years from 2004-2007 at Ravenwood High School in
Brentwood, Tenn. There, turning the program around, she took
her team to two 30-plus win seasons and also received the 2007
District-11 Coach of the Year honor. She was also
selected in 2006 and 2007 as a coach for the Middle Tennessee
Softball Coaches Association All-Star Team, which plays against the
top players in the mid-state.
Hughes graduated in 1999 from Brentwood High School in
Brentwood, Tenn. There she was part of 3 State Championship
contenders with a 214-37 overall four year record. Once
graduated, Hughes continued on to play second base for Jackson
State Community College in Jackson, Tenn. There she was a
stand out finishing up her career with a .354 batting
average. In 2001 Hughes was inducted into the Jackson
State Hall Of Fame as well as being named 2001 Tennessee Player Of
The Year.
After her two years at Jackson State, Hughes continued her
playing career in playing Division I softball for The
University of Tennessee at Martin under Head Coach Donley
Canary. There she received her bachelor's degree in
Secondary Business Education. As a second baseman for
the Skyhawks, she held records for most stolen bases and
attempts. She received All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in
2002 and 2003. She was also selected as second baseman for
the 2002 and 2003 OVC All Conference Tournament
Team.
Hughes completed her Master's in Education in December of
'09. Stephanie and her husband, Hunter, the Defensive
Coordinator for the ThunderWolves' football team, reside in
Pueblo.
