14th annual CSU-Pueblo Spank Blasing Run/Walk set for April 16


PUEBLO, Colo. (March 3, 2016) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Athletics presents the 14th annual Spank Blasing 5K run & 2-mile walk on the campus of CSU-Pueblo, April 16, 2016.

The Spank offers a great opportunity for members of the community to get out and get active, while supporting the Pack by raising money for student-athlete scholarships.

This year, the 5K run & 2-mile walk will include a new and exciting course through the beautiful campus of CSU-Pueblo with a finish line at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and packet pick-up from 7-8 a.m. at the ThunderBowl. Participants can also pick up their race packets Friday, April 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Massari Arena.

Pre-race registration is available now through April 15, which offers $25 for adults and $20 for youth 18 or younger. The cost for race day registration is $30 for all ages.

Family rates are also available for pre-race registration for $75, which will include two adults and two youth.

$10 from each registration will be used to support the CSU-Pueblo Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program in honor of the ROTC 100th Anniversary.

The entry fee includes an official race T-shirt, goodie bag, post-event drinks and snacks and a Miller Lite beer for participants 21 and older.

Awards will be given to the three top finishers for both men and women.
