COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 21, 2017) - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its preseason honors and rankings for the indoor track and field season Tuesday and in the process selected senior Miriam Roberts (Boulder, Colorado) as Preseason All-RMAC. The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's track and field team was picked sixth in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, while the men's squad tied for sixth.
Roberts is coming off an all-region cross country season where she qualified as an individual for the NCAA Division II National Championships. Last season she was named all-region with the distance medley relay team during the indoor season and was a national qualifier in the 3000m steeplechase during the outdoor season.
Both the Pack indoor track and field teams were fifth at last year's conference championship. The women earned 86 points in the preseason poll for sixth, while the men gathered 68 points to tie for sixth with Colorado Mesa University.
Coming off a sweep of the national cross country championships, both the Adams State University men and women were selected as preseason favorites.
The ThunderWolves begin the 2017-18 indoor season Dec. 1 with a dual meet at Colorado School of Mines, then head back to Golden, Colorado Dec. 7-8 for the Mines Alumni & Classic Multi at the Steinhauer Fieldhouse.
