Second-ranked Fort Lewis dominates Pack

No. 2 Fort Lewis 89, CSU-Pueblo 55
DURANGO, Colo. - The ThunderWolves faced a tall order Friday, facing the second-ranked Fort Lewis Skyhawks in Durango. But the Skyhawks made that order even taller, playing like a team that should be ranked tops in the country, upending the ThunderWolves 89-55 Friday.
Fort Lewis shot an epic 53 percent from the field, hitting over 61 percent of their shots in the second half, dwarfing the Pack in what was a down night for the ThunderWolves.
CSU-Pueblo shot 36 percent from the field, committing a season high 25 turnovers, 16 coming by way of steals by the Skyhawks. The ThunderWolves were out-rebounding 38-30, boating only one bright spot statistically, reaching double-digits in steals.
CSU-Pueblo trailed 40-27 after the first half, with Fort Lewis seizing on an 8-0 run to close the half.
The Skyhawks didn't stop there, rattling off a 25-5 run midway through the second half that gave Fort Lewis a lead of as much as 39 at one point before settling on the final 34-point advantage.
The Pack will look to shrug off the loss when it travels to Alamosa to take on Adams State Saturday.
