PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Nov. 19, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo women's basketball had their hands full Saturday night, defeating an amped-up Cameron University team 71-63.

Alex Evans (So., Louisville, Colo.) spearheaded the first-half attack as she constantly mixed up her game with midrange jumpers, drives to the basket and a 3-pointer.

But the Aggies were able to keep it close shooting 51% from the field and creating 11 Pack turnovers. Cameron also benefitted from a hot start by Alexis Williams, who lit up the Pack with 16-points while going 4-for-5 from 3-point range.

Williams finished the game with 19 points and four rebounds. Sabelle Diata also had a solid game for the Aggies as she caused problems for the Pack in the paint to finish with 14-points.

In the second half, the Pack picked up the intensity on defense, forcing the Aggies into turnovers and allowing the team to run and make plays on the open floor.

All five starters for the Pack finished with double-digit scoring efforts, led by Kendall Babler (Sr., Rifle, Colo.) with 15-points. Babler did the most damage from the free throw line, going 9-for-10 while chipping in six assists.

Jennelle Branting (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) was also huge down the stretch with the Pack leading by five points with a little under two minutes remaining, Branting leaked behind the Aggies press defense to help seal the victory.

Branting finished with 11 points while collecting a team-high eight rebounds.

The Aggies on the other hand struggled from the free throw line, shooting 38 percent, which ultimately led to their demise.

At the conclusion of the game the all-tournament team was announced and featured Katie Hall, Western State; Alexis Williams and Nicole Pendarvis from Cameron, and Babler and Laurel Kearsley (Jr., Victor, Idaho) from CSU-Pueblo.
