ThunderWolves continue to be vexed by Fort Lewis

Pack suffers fifth straight road loss to Skyhawks.

DURANGO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 3, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo suffered its fifth straight road loss to Fort Lewis Saturday, unable to climb back from an early deficit in a 71-61 loss.

CSU-Pueblo shot itself in the foot early on, starting the game on a 1-for-7 slump as Fort Lewis built a 12-2 lead to open the game.  The Pack was able to close the lead to 14-8, but the Skyhawks would quickly go up by 11 and held the ThunderWolves at bay throughout the remainder of the game.

The Pack would end the half on an 11-2 run, all 11 points scored by Kendall Babler (Sr., Rifle, Colo.) and Alex Evans (So., Louisville, Colo.) to cut an 18-point Skyhawk lead to 41-32 at halftime.  The ThunderWolves would extend it even further by scoring the first three points of the second half to cut the lead to 41-35.  But Fort Lewis would bury the Pack by responding with a 17-2 run, going up 58-37 and dooming any other chance of a comeback.

Babler led the ThunderWolves in scoring with 12 points and three assists, followed by an 11-point effort by Erica Hicks (Jr., Lakewood, Colo.).  Evans added eight points, six steals and five assists.

The ThunderWolves, now 4-2 and 1-1 in RMAC play, will continue on the road with showdowns at Colorado Christian and Colorado School of Mines.
