ThunderWolves to host 'Fan Appreciation' basketball game on New Year's Eve

All fans will receive complimentary free admission to New Year's Eve matinee vs. UC-Colorado Springs.

PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 27, 2011) - Colorado State University-Pueblo knows it has the best fans, and to show our gratitude, the ThunderWolves will dedicate December 31, 2011 as Fan Appreciation Night.

CSU-Pueblo wants every fan to know how much it appreciates the support that you give the ThunderWolf student-athletes and will honor fans with free admission to the men's and women's basketball contests against UC-Colorado Springs.

The ThunderWolf women play at 1 p.m. and the men will tipoff at 3 p.m. against the Mountain Lions.  Doors open at noon.

UC-Colorado Springs is one of the ThunderWolves' most heated rivals, with the victor of Saturday's games earning points in the "Steel and Silver Series," the all-sports competition between the two schools.  Early on, CSU-Pueblo is trailing in the series by a 14-2 score, with points for men's and women's soccer, cross country and volleyball already decided.  The school that wins the head-to-head season series in each of the 10 sports the two schools share receive four points toward its "Steel and Silver Series" score (season splits results in a two point apiece split of the season's points).  The first school to 23 "Steel and Silver" points clinches the trophy.  Saturday's games will mark the first of two meetings in basketball between the two schools this season.

Come out and "Bring the Thunder" to Massari Arena and support a good cause during Fan Appreciation night!
