Kearsley claims defensive player of the week honors

Pack junior becomes second ThunderWolf this season to claim weekly honor.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 23, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo post Laurel Kearsley (Jr., Victor, Idaho) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Kearsley stole the ball three times, blocked one shot and grabbed 15 defensive rebounds in two home wins over the weekend against Chadron State and Nebraska-Kearney.  On the weekend, she averaged 12.5 PPG and 10.0 RPG, the second straight week in which she averaged a double-double.

She is the second ThunderWolf this season to garner RMAC Player of the Week honors, joining Kendall Babler (Sr., Rifle, Colo.), who was the RMAC's offensive player of the week during the first week of the season.

Kearsley leads the 14-3 ThunderWolves on the first part of a three-game road swing this weekend to New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico.
