INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 14, 2012) - In the initial regional rankings released Wednesday, CSU-Pueblo's women's basketball team debuted with a ranking of fifth in the NCAA Division II Central Region, putting it in prime position for an at-large National Tournament berth.
The ThunderWolves, with a record of 18-4 this season, was one of just three RMAC teams to be listed in the Central Region top ten, behind Metro State (2nd) and Fort Lewis (4th). If the season ended today, the Central Regional tournament would be held at Wayne State College (Neb.).
Needing to keep winning to keep its regional standing, CSU-Pueblo travels to Nebraska this weekend for showdowns with Chadron State and Nebraska-Kearney.
