DURANGO, Colo. (November 15, 2016) – After beginning the season 2-0, Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball jumped into the top 25 of the NCAA Division II Sports Information Director's Association poll. The Pack ranked No. 20 in the poll released Tuesday.
CSU-Pueblo dominated Texas A&M University Commerce in their season opener, winning 81-58. The Pack defeated defending National Champion and No. 11 Lubbock Christian University 65-61. Both games were part of the Denver Holiday Inn Cherry Creek Invitational.
Molly Rohrer (So., Greenwood Village, Colo.) earned the First RMAC Offensive Player of the Week of the season. Rohrer scored 16 points per game and averaged 8.5 rebounds per game in the Pack's first weekend of games. Rohrer earned RMAC Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the First Team All-RMAC in 2015-16.
The ThunderWolves won the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. They received votes in the Preseason NCAA D-II SIDA poll.
CSU-Pueblo was ranked for a month in the NCAA D-II SIDA Poll in 2015-16 from Dec. 2- Jan.6. The Pack reached as high as No. 17 before exiting.
The Pack will make their home debut during the 33rd Annual Al Kaly Shrine Classic Friday at 5 p.m. when they host University of Alaska Fairbanks at Massari Arena. CSU-Pueblo will also play Tarleton State University Saturday at 3 p.m. in the final game of the Al Kaly Shrine Classic.
