ThunderWolves remain No.9 in WBCA rankings, jump to No. 10 in media poll

PUEBLO, Colo. (December 13, 2016) Despite a pair of dominating victories last week, Colorado State University-Pueblo women's basketball remains No.9 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

The ThunderWolves did move up in NCAA D-II Sports Information Directors Association poll. CSU-Pueblo jumped back into the top 10 in this poll, coming in at No. 10. They were ranked as high as No. 8 in this poll, Nov. 28.

This week will be the Pack's fourth consecutive week in the WBCA poll and their second straight week at No.9. They debuted at No. 17 in the poll, Nov. 22.

After one-sided wins over New Mexico Highlands University (73-48) and Westminster College (68-54) last week, CSU-Pueblo stands 10-0 to start the season, their best beginning to a season since 1975-76. They are one of just 12 unbeaten teams remaining in Division II. Once again, the Pack was the only Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team ranked in either poll. They are 4-0 in RMAC games.

Nationally, CSU-Pueblo ranks 18th in rebounding margin, grabbing 10.4 rebounds per game more than their opponents. They stand 17th in D-II with 84 three-pointers made.

The ThunderWolves will look to match the best start to a season in school history Friday when the play Colorado Mesa University at 5:30 at Massari Arena. The Pack's four-game homestand will continue Saturday when Western State Colorado University pays the Pack a visit at 5:30 p.m.

This weekend's games will also feature a toy drive at Massari Arena. Fans who bring an unopened toy to the game will receive free admission to both the Pack Women's game and Pack Men's game. The toys will be donated to Pueblo area Foster children.
