PUEBLO, Colo. (January 10, 2017) – After two close road victories, Colorado State University-Pueblo women's basketball jumped to No.8 in the D-II Sports Information Directors Association poll, matching their highest ranking ever.
The Pack is one of just five undefeated teams remaining in D-II. Their 15 wins ranks as the second most in the nation.
Tuesday marks the second time the D-II SIDA poll has recognized the Pack at the No. 8. They were ranked No. 8 in this poll Nov. 22, 2016. They have fluctuated between No.8 to No.11 in this poll over the last month.
Despite the two roads wins, the Pack slipped one spot to No.10 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll. The Pack has been in the top 10 in this poll for five consecutive weeks.
The ThunderWolves ranked No.11 in the nation in free throw percentage. They make 78 percent of their shots from the charity stripe.
CSU-Pueblo is also the only Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team ranked in the WBCA poll. The ThunderWolves lead the conference in scoring (74.1 ppg), field goal percentage (.431), and scoring margin (+13.0).
The Pack returns home from a two-game road trip for a two-game homestand. CSU-Pueblo will host Metro State University Denver Friday at 5:30 p.m. They will also face Steel & Silver Trophy rival University of Colorado Colorado Springs Saturday with another 5:30 p.m. tip off.
Saturday's game will also be High School Night at Massari Arena. All middle school and high school students will be admitted for free with a student ID.
