High School Night highlights key home weekend for CSU-Pueblo Basketball

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 9, 2017) –  After a weekend away from the Steel City, Colorado State University-Pueblo basketball returns home to Massari Arena with a pair of exciting doubleheaders Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday's doubleheader brings high school night to Massari Arena. All high school and middle school students will receive free admission Saturday night with their student IDs.

The Pack's Steel and Silver trophy rivals, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions will also be in town in a rivalry doubleheader. CSU-Pueblo women's basketball will tip things off in this crucial rivalry game Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

CSU-Pueblo admissions will have a booth at the game to give high school students more insights into the academic programs offered at the University. High school seniors who stop by this booth will have their application fee waived, when applying to CSU-Pueblo.

The Pack women and UCCS will enter the weekend in first and second place respectively in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings, placing extra importance on Saturday's showdown. For the Pack men Saturday's game will be a rematch of a Nov. 18 game that the ThunderWolves won 83-61.

Friday's doubleheader features a showdown between the Pack and Metro State University of Denver. The undefeated Pack women will tip off against the Roadrunners at 5:30 p.m. with the Pack men to follow 20 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game.

This Friday's game between the Pack men and the Roadrunners features two teams jockeying for position atop the RMAC. The ThunderWolves enter the weekend just a half game back of the conference lead, while the Roadrunners sit 1.5 games behind RMAC-leading Fort Lewis College.

Combined, the Pack men and women are 13-0 at home this season. Tickets will be available on game day at the Massari Arena box office.
