COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (January 23, 2017) – For the fifth time in 2016-17 Colorado State University-Pueblo women's basketball center Molly Rohrer earned a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week Award. The RMAC recognized Rohrer as its Offensive Player of the Week Monday.
Rohrer was an offensive juggernaut for the Pack as she led the Pack to a sweep of Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines. The Pack's center averaged 26.0 points per game. Rohrer made 65.6 percent of her shots from the field and 10-of-11 at the line as she helped the Pack remain unbeaten.
Against the Orediggers, Rohrer scored a career-high 32 points, including 17 points in the fourth quarter to lead CSU-Pueblo to the victory. With CSU-Pueblo down eight with seven minutes to play, Rohrer took over scoring the team's next 12 points to engineer the comeback. She would knock down 10-of-11 at the free throw line to help the Pack clinch the win. Rohrer also pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
In the Pack's dominating win over Colorado Christian, Rohrer dropped 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting. She also added another rejection.
Rohrer ranks fourth in the RMAC with 15.9 points per game. Her 53.3 FG percentage stands fifth best in the conference. She ranks eighth in free throw percentage at 82.8.
Defensively, Rohrer leads the RMAC in blocks per game, and stands 27th nationally with 2.1 blocks per game. With 40 blocks this season, Rohrer ranks 22nd nationally.
Rohrer now has two Offensive Player of the Week awards this season to go with her three Defensive Player of the Week. Her five Player of the awards leads the conference as no other team or player has more than two this season. As a team, CSU-Pueblo has received eight RMAC Player of the Week Awards in 10 weeks this season.
With a 19-0 record, Rohrer and the Pack will hit the road to face Chadron State College Friday and Regis University Saturday. CSU-Pueblo will face the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. and meet the Rangers at 5:00 p.m.
The ThunderWolves return home Friday Feb. 3 to play rival Adams State University at 5:30 p.m. The following night will be the annual Take a Kid to a game night against Fort Lewis College. Denver Nuggets super mascot Rocky will be at this game to entertain the fans.
