PUEBLO, Colo. (March 12, 2018) – Molly Rohrer and Katie Cunningham of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball team received All-Region honors from the D-II Conference Commissioners Association Monday. Rohrer earned First Team All-South Central Region honors, while Cunningham claimed Second Team All-Region accolades.
Rohrer (Jr., Greenwood Village, Colo.) garners an All-Region selection for the second consecutive season. She was named Second Team All-Region a year ago. Rohrer was the first student-athlete at CSU-Pueblo to earn each honor.
The center was voted RMAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Rohrer earned RMAC Academic Player of the Year honors, making her just the second student-athlete to receive both honors in the same year.
Rohrer led the Pack with 14.5 points per game, sixth-most in the RMAC. With 2.0 blocks per game, Rohrer led the RMAC in blocks for the third straight year. She was tabbed First Team All-RMAC for the third consecutive season.
As just a junior, Rohrer already has the school record with 207 career blocks. Her 2.2 career swats per game also stands as a school record. Rohrer's 1,374 career points rank fifth in CSU-Pueblo history.
Cunningham (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) collected her first All-Region honor with this second-team nod. She was as dominant as any player in the region over the final month of the season, averaging 14.9 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game since the start of February. She had five double-doubles in that span.
For the second consecutive season, Cunningham earned RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Cunningham led the RMAC in rebounding for the second year in a row with 9.9 rebounds per game. Cunningham's 307 rebounds this season stands as the fifth-highest single-season total in program history.
With 9.6 rebounds per game in her career, Cunningham ranks fourth all-time in program history. Her 602 rebounds in just two seasons ranks seventh all-time at CSU-Pueblo.
Cunningham also led the RMAC in assists per game(4.9) and assists/turnover ratio (2.3). The Pack's point guard ranks third all-time at CSU-Pueblo with 4.4 assists per game in here career. Her 277 career assists rank seventh-most in school history.
The senior was named RMAC Tournament MVP. She also claimed First Team All-RMAC accolades for the second consecutive year.
Thanks to Cunningham and Rohrer's efforts the Pack won their second straight RMAC Regular Season Championship. They also won the RMAC Tournament on their way to a 25-7 record and their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
