Albuquerque, N.M. –(GoThunderWolves.com-March 20,2012)- Fighting off another harsh March day and then knocking off the rest of the RMAC wasn't exactly what CSU-Pueblo's Women's Golf Coach Greg Dillon expected in his team's first performance of the season, but that's what happened at the Western New Mexico Mustang Invitational on the UNM Championship Golf Course located in Albuquerque, N.M..
Entering into the second round, the Thunderwolves were in a tie for third, with host WNM, and behind Colorado Mesa. Led by a trio of sophomores, the Pack fought off the elements and played themselves into second behind Lubbock Christian and bettering all its RMAC rivals.
Domi DiNallo (So., Elephant Butte, N.M.) and Trisha Vinci (So., Rye, Colo.) both finished in three way tie at fifth place for the Thunderwolves. DiNallo dropped three strokes, shooting a 12-over, 83 and Vinci played steady scoring an 85 to finish with a total 169 over 36 holes.
Michaela Breit (So., Greeley, Colo.) completed the sophomore show by also carding an 85, moving her into a tie for ninth and a 36 hole total 174.
The Pack returns to action this coming weekend when the host the ThunderWolf Invitational on the Desert Hawk Golf Course in Pueblo West, Colo.. Play starts Saturday, March 24 and concludes Sunday, March 25.
