Records fall at Bob Writz Invitational, Pack takes title

DENVER, Colo.-(GoThunderWolves.com-April 2,2012)- In probably the worst weather conditions so far this spring, the CSU-Pueblo Women's Golf Team played their best golf of the season and picked up their first tournament title.

Playing the Bob Writz Invitational, hosted by Regis, on the Fox Hollow Golf Course, located in Denver, Colo., the ThunderWolves took a five-stroke lead over host Regis and held a nine-stroke margin over Franklin College (OH) to secure the top spot.  Their team score of 320 bests the school record, which was just set last fall, by two strokes.

Helping the team win its first title was the Pack's first ever medalist, Domi DiNallo (So., Elephant Butte, N.M.). DiNallo's 2-over-par 74 not only earned her the win but was also good enough to set the school record, again.

Helping set the new team mark were Trisha Vinci (So., Rye, Colo.) who shot a round of 81 and tied for seventh, Julie Sanchez (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) finished tied for tenth with her round of 82, and Michaela Breit (So., Greeley, Colo.) carded an 83 placing her in a tie at twelfth.

The Pack moves on to Grand Junction, Colo., to take part in the Maverick Spring Invitational hosted by Colorado Mesa on April 9, 2012.  Play will be on the Tiadoro Golf Course starting at 8 a.m.
