Pack languishing after one round at Super Regionals

Pack over 20 strokes outside of top four, benchmark needed to make nationals.

ELEPHANT BUTTE, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 6, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo's women's golf team picked a bad time to struggle as it shot a team 357 to sit in last place after one round of play at the NCAA Division II Central Regionals Sunday.

No ThunderWolves sat in the top 20 individually after one round of play as CSU-Pueblo was in last by five strokes.  Its highest golfer after one round was Trisha Vinci (So., Rye, Colo.) who shot a first-round 84 to be tied for 24th place.  Domi Dinallo (So., Elephant Butte, N.M.), who played the Sierra Del Rio course countless times as she is an Elephant Butte native, shot an 86 to sit in 30th place.

The ThunderWolves have a tall chore in front of it - having to make up over 20 strokes for a last ditch shot at making nationals.  It must finish in the top four to earn a berth in the national tournament.  At 357, it is 22 strokes behind fourth place Minnesota State at 335.  Colorado Mesa leads the field with a team score of 313.

CSU-Pueblo will wrap up its weekend at the Central Regionals Monday.
