Pack climbs to 7th at Super Regionals

Dinallo five strokes off pace to capture individual-qualifying spot for nationals.

ELEPHANT BUTTE, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 7, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo rose two spots on the leaderboard Monday at the NCAA Super Regional in Elephant Butte, N.M., climbing to 7th after two rounds of play.

A big reason for this push was the play of Elephant Butte-native Domi Dinallo (So., Elephant Butte, N.M.), who cut six strokes off her first-round score to turn in an 8-over 80, the fifth-lowest round of the day, climbing all the way to a tie for 16th place.

Barring an epic team comeback by the ThunderWolves, Dinallo is now in the running for one of two individual-qualifying spots for nationals.  She is currently five strokes off the pace of Southwest Minnesota State's Krista Weiszhaar, who if the tournament ended today, would claim the second of two individual qualifying spots to nationals.

As a team, CSU-Pueblo cut ten strokes from its last place first-round score of 357.  Shooting for one of three team qualifiers for nationals, CSU-Pueblo is a long shot, sitting 47 strokes behind third-place Western New Mexico for the final team qualifying spot.

The third and final round of the NCAA Division II Super Regionals wraps up Tuesday.
