Pack Women’s Golf contends with wind at West Texas Lady Buff Invite

AMARILLO, Texas (October 4, 2016) –  Dealing with windy conditions at the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Invitational, Colorado State University-Pueblo women's golf finished 12th after 36 holes and two days of competition at La Paloma Golf Course.

The Pack shot a combined 320 on day two. They shaved 16 strokes off their day one total, finishing the tournament with a team score of 656. This combined score earned the Pack 12th place out of the 18 team field.

Sophomores Courtney Ewing (Pueblo West, Colo.) and Jolene Kam (Selangor, Malaysia) both led the Pack finishing in a tie for 30th place. Ewing and Kam both shot a combined +19 (161).

Ewing led the Pack on day one with an 82 (+11). She bounced back with a 79 (+8) Tuesday morning. Kam shot an 84 (+13) on her first day of competition. On day two, Kam trimmed seven strokes off her score Monday with a +6 (77).

Senior Jacquelyn Porman (Gilbert, Ariz.) ranked third among Pack golfers with a +25 (166). She finished 50th overall.

Tori Goodman (So., Peyton, Colo.) remained consistent throughout the tournament, scoring points for the Pack. Goodman carded an 84 (+13) on both days of competition.  Goodman along with Kam both finished -1 on par five holes throughout the tournament.

The Pack will wrap up their fall season Monday, Oct. 10 – Tuesday, Oct.11 when they tee off at the RMAC South Tournament. This event will be held at the Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa, Colo.
