COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 21, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo women's golfer Courtney Ewing (Jr., Pueblo West, Colo.) was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week after placing second at the NCAA West Regional Preview in Durango, Colo. announced Thursday by league officials.
Ewing shot an incredible -2 (69) to vault up into a tie for second at the NCAA West Regional Preview. Ewing's performance Tuesday matched the best round played in the tournament. She finished one stroke back of Addison Mitchell of Dallas Baptist University for the tournament win with a +2 (144).
The two-under performance was the best of Ewing's career, beating her 73 at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships. She had three birdies and 14 pars Tuesday. Ewing ranked in the top five on par threes, fours, and fives to post her career best -2.
As a team, the Pack finished tied for ninth with a cumulative score of 615 (+47). Their ninth place was tied for the best score posted by an a RMAC school with University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Next up for the Pack, they travel Sept. 25-26 and compete in the WNMU Intercollegiate Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz.
