GOODYEAR, Ariz. (Sept. 25, 2018) - Senior Jolene Kam (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia ) followed her even-par 72 Monday with a one-over 73 in the final round Tuesday to finish tied for eighth at the Mustang Fall Intercollegiate. Her top 10 performance guided the Colorado State University-Pueblo women's golf team to a fifth place finish at Estrella Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona.
The ThunderWolves were fifth of 19 teams and the first among six Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs. The Pack totaled a 303 Tuesday to finish 26-over (299-203--602). Through three tournaments, the Pack have yet to lose to an RMAC team and hold a 37-5-1 record against all opponents. CSU-Pueblo was third in the field in Par 4 scoring at +17, while the Pack's 116 pars were good for fourth among the 19 teams.
Kam fired a 73 (72-73--145) to secure her second top 10 placing of the season, as she tied for eighth in a field of 97 players. Her round consisted of 11 pars, four bogeys and three birdies. She led the team and tied for the second best score among all players on Par 3's at one-under and finished one-over in Par 4 scoring.
Senior Courtney Ewing (Pueblo West, Colo.) carded matching scores of 75 (150) in the two rounds to close the tournament at six-over and tied for 23rd. Her even-par play on Par 4s led the team. Her lone birdie of the day came on the 157-yard Par 3 17th.
Rachanok Rahulpan (Sr., Pathumthani, Thailand) shot a 78 Tuesday and finished the tournament T-34th at eight-over (74-78--152). She had one birdie and three total for the tournament.
Orakorn Thirayatorn (Sr., Meang Khonkaen, Thailand) had two birdies on the day and posted a 77 to close the week with a 78-77--155 (+11) and finish tied for 45th. She played the Par 5s one-under to guide the ThunderWolves and tie for the second best finish among the field.
Finally, Amy Sutheran (Fr., Hartlepool , Durham, England, UK) finished T-72nd with a 78-83--161 (+17).
Next up for the Pack is the West Texas A&M Fall Invite, set for Oct. 1-2 at La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas.
