PUEBLO, Colo. (April 10, 2017) – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Monday that Colorado State University – Pueblo Women's Lacrosse midfielder Leah Neumann has earned the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Award.
Neumann (Jr., Naperville, Ill.) fired in nine goals and handed out two assists to lead the pack to a 2-0 weekend. Behind Neumann's offensive efforts, the Pack dominated University of Colorado Colorado Springs 18-5 and Adams State University 15-3. Neumann had more goals his weekend than the Pack's two opponents combined, as CSU-Pueblo bested their opponents 33-8.
In the Pack's inaugural showdown with the Mountain Lions, Neumann netted five goals and dished out a pair of assists. Neumann also controlled three draws in the win.
One day later, Neumann potted four goals to lead the Pack to victory over the Grizzlies. She outscored the Grizzlies by herself. Neumann also chipped in seven more draw controls to earn extra possessions for the Pack.
The co-captain leads the Pack with 32 points on the season. Neumann has a team-high 10 assists. She has also netted 22 goals on the season.
Neumann ranks third in the RMAC with 4.1 draw controls per game. She ranks 26th in D-II in draw controls per game. Neumann's efforts helped the Pack to a 35-9 advantage in draw controls over the weekend.
Monday marked the second time in Neumann's career she has earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. She earned this same honor March 29, 2016. The Pack has received three RMAC Player of the Week awards this season.
Neumann and the Pack will continue their three game homestand Friday when they face Concordia University –St. Paul. The opening draw between the ThunderWolves and the Golden Bears is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
