PUEBLO, Colo. (April 13, 2017) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Lacrosse will continue its three-game homestand Friday and Saturday as they meet Concordia University- St. Paul and Westminster College at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium. The Pack will play the Golden Bears Friday at 4 p.m. and then wrap up their homestand against the Griffins Saturday at 12 p.m.
Concordia stands 8-6 overall. The Griffins hold a 6-4 record overall and stand 4-3 in RMAC play. CSU-Pueblo sits 1.5 games back of the Griffins in the conference standings.
Leah Neumann (Jr., Naperville, Ill.) was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring nine goals and dishing out two assists last weekend. Neumann leads the Pack with 32 points. She has 22 goals and 10 assists. Her 41 draw controls also stand as a team-best. Neumann ranks third in the RMAC with 4.1 draw controls per game.
Taylor Christensen (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been on fire offensively. Christensen has 12 goals over her last three games. She also ranks sixth in the RMAC with 2.60 ground balls per game. Christensen stands seventh in the conference with 1.70 caused turnovers per game. Her 3.50 draw controls per game ranks eighth.
Rachael Welzin (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) stands tied with Christensen for seventh in the RMAC with 1.70 caused turnovers per game. She has caused two turnovers in each of her last three games.
Friday's game will be the first ever meeting between the Pack and the Golden Bears. The ThunderWolves swept the Griffins last season.
CSU-Pueblo won both games against Westminster by one goal. Christensen scored the game winner in the first meeting with 1:25 left, while Chloe Sharko (So., Naperville, Ill.) netted the game winner with 20 seconds in last season's game at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
