PUEBLO, Colo. (April 17, 2018) – Originally scheduled for Tuesday April 17, Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Lacrosse and Adams State University will now play Wednesday April 18 in Alamosa, Colo. at 3 p.m.
This game was postponed due to severe winds in Southern Colorado Tuesday. The wind surpassed 46 miles per hour.
The ThunderWolves have won two in a row by a combined score of 46-2. One of these wins was a 24-1 victory over the Grizzlies April 8. These are the Pack's two highest scoring performances in program history.
Alix Zierden (Sr., Elk River, Minn.) became the first ThunderWolf to score 100 career goals after her four-goal performance in the Pack's 22-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist University April 14. Zierden leads the Pack with 23 goals this season.
Leah Neumann (Sr., Naperville, Ill.) will likely join Zierden in the 100 goal club this week. Neumann has scored 98 goals in her time at CSU-Pueblo. The co-captain has a team-best 34 points this season.
Over this two game winning streak, Neumann has averaged 9.5 draw controls per game. She has jumped to sixth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with 4.64 draw controls per game.
Rachael Welzin (Sr., Farmington, Minn.) has set a school record with 34 caused turnovers. Welzin ranks second in the RMAC with 3.09 caused turnovers per game. She ranks fourth in D-II in caused turnovers per game.
A four-year captain, Welzin also ranks second in the RMAC with 4.0 ground balls per game. Welzin's 4.0 ground balls per game rank 13th nationally.
Allison Wurscher (Jr., Tigard, Ore.) accounted for a season-high eight points in the Pack's win over the Bison. Wurscher had two goals and a six assists. Playing attack, Wurscher became the first Pack player to reach 50 career assists. Wurscher's 1.36 assists per game rank ninth in the RMAC.
Taylor Christensen (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) ranks second on the Pack with 31 points. Christensen's 3.55 ground balls per game place her sixth in the RMAC and 28th in D-II. A co-captain, Christensen stands 10th in the RMAC with 1.91.
Ane Marie Horton (R-So., Long Beach, Calif.) ranks second in the RMAC with a 50.3 percent save percentage. Horton holds 13th nationally in save percentage. The Pack's goaltender ranks second in the RMAC with 11.75 saves per game. Horton ranks seventh in D-II in saves per game. She also averages 3.13 ground balls per game, eight-best in the RMAC.
The Pack will look to improve their 3-8 record. They stand 2-5 in RMAC play. Wednesday's game will not count towards the RMAC standings.
