Powell, Wyo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Nov. 10, 2012) - The CSU-Pueblo wrestling team continued it's strong start to the 2012-13 season placing six wrestlers at the Northwest College Open. Niko Bogojevic (So., Superior, Wisc.) highlighted the tournament finished first in the heavyweight division.
Bogojevic won three matches on his march to the title beginning with a 8-0 major decision over Harley Fandrich. He then wrestled a close match with Kabe Fluaitt that he won with a 2-1 decision. In the championship match it was all Bogojevic as he defeated Bryan Smith with a 10-3 decision.
Jesse Hillhouse (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) followed up his tournament win at the Cowboy Open with a solid showing, falling in the championship match to Drew Templeman in a close 6-4 decision to claim second place.
Ray Hall (Jr., Garfield, Ark.) took an interesting route to a third-place finish as he lost in his opening match to Ben Stroh, before defeating two Pack wrestlers in the consolation bracket to claim third place. Joe Giron (Jr., Arvada, Colo.) faced Hall in the third place match and lost in a 7-3 decision to earn fourth place.
Trevor Grant (Jr., Winemucca, Nev.) went 4-1 in the tournament to earn third place, his only loss coming Brent Havlik of the University of Wyoming.
The Pack will travel home and play their first home dual of the year when they host Wayland Baptist Thursday. The dual is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Pueblo South High School.
