LAS VEGAS, Nev. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 1, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo senior 125-pounder Jesse Hillhouse (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) placed a very impressive 7th place at the Cliff Keen Collegiate Invitational, which features chiefly the nation's top Division I collegiate talent.
Hillhouse's only losses came to Cornell's Nashon Garnett, the tournament's second-seeded wrestler, and American University's David Terao, the latter of which came in a slim 9-8 decision.
He claimed wins over Harvard's Jeffrey Ott and Nebraska-Kearney's Connor Bolling, to name a few, en route to defeating Utah Valley University's Jade Rauser by a medical default to place 7th.
Ray Hall (Jr., Garfield, Ark.) also had a successful tournament, advancing as far as a quarterfinals, opening eyes by defeating sixth-seed Austin Morehead from Oregon State in a 19-4 technical fall, he lost his next two matches to finish out of the money.
The Cliff Keen Invitational, one of the most highly competitive collegiate tournaments in the country, marks the end of the Pack's schedule this calendar year. CSU-Pueblo will pick back up Jan. 5 on the road at Fort Hays State as it opens up its RMAC schedule.
