Hays, Kan. (GoThunderWoles.com - Jan. 5, 2013) - After being out of action for about a month, the CSU-Pueblo wrestling team got back to work in 2013, losing a non-conference dual to No. 19 Fort Hays State University 29-6.
The Tigers began the match by winning the first five matchups with decisions to go up 15-0. The early matches were a tough road for the Pack as they faced two of three Tiger wrestlers who are mentioned in national rankings.
Ray Hall (Jr., Garfield, Ark.) put in a spirited effort at 174-pounds to give the pack their first win, defeating Travis Budke in a 7-4 decision.
Before the Pack could gain any momentum, the next two matches belonged to the Tigers, who defeated their opponents with major decisions. One of the major decisions came against Tanner Kriss, a Division I transfer who is also being mentioned in the national rankings.
Heavyweight Niko Bogojevic (So., Superior, Wisc.) kept up his strong season defeating John Close in a 3-2 decision.
The Pack will be back on the mat next week when they host Adams State to open up the confence dual season. The match is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m.
